What we do...

This is about the extent of the twins' day. They sit, roll, and now try to crawl around and explore all their toys. It wont be long before they are mobile and running around the house, and that is when the real fun will start, oh my not sure if I am ready for that. They also run, and I do mean run, in their walkers now. They run around the dining room and kitchen, they are now grabbing at stuff, trying to open cupboards, and run over anything or anybody in their way, and that includes the poor dog. They chase him down and corner him, poor poor puppy if he only knew it is about to get worse.

Any minute now they will be crawling. They are trying so hard and Ashton has about got it down, and Dylan is not far behind him. Today I thought Ashton was going to crawl right over the pillow to the Christmas tree, he got half way over and then saw something else and rolled down the pillow. Yup he is my lil' goof. Can't believe they are almost crawling already, milestone are going to just fly by now.

Can we help???

It was the last weekend before Christmas and I had lots and lots of cookies to bake. Good thing I had helpers. Yeah I think it took me twice as long this year.

First trip to see Santa...

They didn't make a sound, they just stared at him and pulled his beard, and looked at him like wow who are you. Daddy told him what they wanted, and what mommy wanted, a nanny. *chuckle* The twins want Thomas the train track to add to their big brothers old collection, push toys, and things that make noise and light up. We will see it they have been naughty or nice and get it all or not.

For my brothers...

Well obviously Ethan knows the real story about Santa, but he will play along for his little brothers. It was so cute when we were talking about going to see Santa, Ethan said I am not sitting on his lap but I will stand next to him so you can get a picture. So funny he knows me so well to know of course mom will want a picture...to funny. He also don't say anything about... ya know the secret about Santa in front of the twins, as if they would understand, how considerate of him. I am so proud of him, there are times he drives me bonkers with his attitude, but overall he has such a big heart and is so considerate and polite to others. Ethan mommy is so very proud of all you are, and all you will be, even though I know I don't tell you nearly enough!!!

Christmas concert...

This is Ethan right before his Christmas concert, how handsome is this?!?! Me and my twin brain had the dates mixed up and so Jeff at the last minute did get off work, thank goodness for more than one reason. I would of hated for him to miss it, he has never missed one yet, and this was the first time that we got to see Ethan play the drum. He has a practice pad, but me having the twins is not as on the ball as I once was. There was a day he would have had his drum bought months ago, but when I get out I usually have to rush home, and I forget half the stuff I need, let alone remember extra stuff. *Shhhhhhh don't tell there is a drum under the tree for him. I can't wait to see his face when he opens it.* Oh and the second reason I was so glad Jeff got off work should be obvious, I was not looking forward to taking the twins on my own. Good thing to we sat there for 2 hours and they were tired and crabby, but did okay because Jeff and one and I had the other, they would have never made it through without us holding them in our laps.

I look at this picture and and can't believe how big Ethan has gotten, and that he is already 10. Where did the time go?? Before we know it the twins will be standing in front of the tree for a picture for there school concerts, and Ethan well he will be 20 and off to college, wow if that don't make a person feel old *laugh*

Finally...

Dylan and Ashton out to play in the snow. First I put them in the stroller, yeah good idea we kept getting stuck, then daddy got out the sled and weeeeeeeeeee away they went. Ashton did a half face plant and got a forehead and one eye full of snow, but he was a trooper and kept on sledding. Dad pulled them for awhile, then he had an idea... hook the sled up to the dog *laugh* This was funny Kong actually pulled them up and down the alley. We got 14 inches of snow on Monday and Tuesday and it has been to cold to go out or windy. Brrrrrrrrrrrrrrr. Today wasn't to bad, and daddy has to work all weekend long *darn it* so we got out to play just a bit. Big brother Ethan missed out he had school, hopefully we will all get out to play together before it melts away. Hopefully the snow will stick around long enough, or we get lots more, I want a white Christmas this year!!!

Snow angels

Mom couldn't wait to get a picture of the twins making snow angels, but twins didn't want to lay down and make them. Oh well, they are cute little sitting snow angels.

Sled dog...

Kong likes to get out and play in the snow too. He is just making himself useful pulling the twins in the sled.

Now it feels like winter...

All this warm weather was making it very hard to believe that Christmas was near. Well after today there is no doubt it is December, at least 8 inches on the ground and still falling. It is so pretty out, it is such a fluffy snow, and it is blowing and swirling around. I am hoping that it isn't to cold so we can get out and play in it tomorrow. Yeah sledding!!! I love the snow, and I love sledding, but we won't be enjoying it much until tomorrow when daddy gets home safe and sound from work to play in it with us. Oh and Yeah for snow days at school, Ethan home today and tomorrow for sure, we can only hope for Thursday too, yeah that might be a stretch. *laugh* HAPPY HOLIDAYS TO ALL!!!

Almost time...

I am always eager for Christmas to come, especially this year for the twins' first Christmas. It is so adorable watching them play in front of the tree each night. I couldn't wait to put the tree up just to see it sparkle in their little eyes. They are good little boys when it comes to the tree, sometimes Dylan will go for this one ornament, a big snowflake, but that is it. And Ethan is the only one who rummages in my perfectly organized and wrapped presents, but I am glad to see it, this is the first year he seems to care. I think it is because he is a spoiled child and knows whatever he asked for is under there somewhere. Well it is almost time to open all those presents.

Not one but two...

That is what Jeff and I said to each other all through my pregnancy. It still is amazing when I sit and watch them to think wow "not one but two". Each day they have learned something new, or have a cute thing they get stuck on and do all day, they are growing from babies into little boys so quickly. We have had many rough patches with no sleep, the fussiness, the reflux, and the formula issues, but it is all worth it to see moments like this, as they sit and play with each other. It is so amazing to see how they are discovering each other and learning to play with each other, and to see their SO VERY different personalities shine through. Ashton by far is the more aggressive give it or I will take it type, and Dylan sits back and investigates each toy so patiently and when Ashton takes it from him, he moves on to the next toy. They are truely amazing little people that are so precious and we are truely blessed to have not one, but two precious little boys. Having two babies does come with many challenges to overcome and I am day by day trying to tackle them; the lack of sleep is a killer, to get up every hour or two then have to function to take care of them and deal with the crazy schedule of having twins is so hard. Also everything has changed so much, we were so used to just going and doing what we wanted like packing up and enjoying a nice day of fishing just Jeff and I, oh how I miss those days, or deciding at the last minute to pack up the camper and take Ethan camping for the night, or something as simple as sitting to watch a movie together. All of these things seemed so trivial, but now it's just hard to get packed up to head to the store. Two babies are far from twice as hard as one, it is balancing all of the things that need to be done times two but not having a spare moment to get things done because not always do they decide they want to nap or be content without you at the same time, oh and not just having to feed two screaming fussy babies but to do it at the same time. I would be lying to say it has all been pleasant, and that I don't really miss the time we all used to have together and the things we could do, and how we always rush and hurry just to get everything done and just seem to get through the day really sucks at times, and never getting a moment to myself or to just kick back and relax with Jeff, but I wouldn't change a thing even if I could. We will get through all this hectic stuff and be doing those things together again and it will be three times the fun with our three boys to enjoy it with.

Thomas is back in the house...

Awwww I remember when Ethan played with his trains all of the time, and Thomas was on TV daily (really after all these years I still know the theme song laugh*) We had Thomas birthday parties, Thomas bedding, Thomas toys for birthday, Christmas, and of course just because. Jeff and I used to go into the store with Ethan and watching him go crazy over all the Thomas things he wanted to add to his collection. I could never bring myself to get rid of his trains, they are the wood ones (a bit expensive I may add), figured someday he could do what ever he wanted with them. Who would have thought we would have two more lil' Thomas fans in the house to put them to good use. They already watch Thomas on the TV and they smile (here we go again round #2 and #3 for Thomas in this house), I can see already that this Thomas collection will be growing more. One question remains who will keep the track when they get older, who will claim it as theirs. Hmmm???? Really it just brought back so many memories seeing it set up, little blond Ethan awwwww so cute he was, now all grown into a handsome double digit as he calls it (10 year old). And see the crane in the picture Ethan wanted that sooooooo bad, it is Cranky the crane he was a cute but "cranky" character Ethan just had to have for his collection. I am excited to start the Thomas phase all over again. Shhh don't tell but Thomas was always my favorite phase.
